Video Transcript for Feature Breakdown: LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the LubriMatic marine trailer wheel bearing grease in these 3-ounce cartridges for a quantity of three. Now this'll provide excellent corrosion protection against severe conditions that can be caused by salt water and salt air. You can use this grease on wheel bearings including disc brake wheel bearings, swivel hinges, pins, winches, and anchor chain reels. This is a special calcium sulfonate complex water insoluble formula, so it's ideal for marine applications. This grease is rated GC-LB by the NLGI #2, has a dropping point of 550 degrees Fahrenheit.

Again, the specs we mentioned, it's for three 3-ounce cartridges. Now to install this grease, it does need to be used with a mini grease gun which we do sell separate on our website. And you want to get the mini grease gun that's designed to use these 3-ounce cartridges. That grease gun we sell separately as part number L30100. Now the overall dimension on each cartridge is about 6 inches long by about 1 1/4 inch diameter.

And one note I do wanna mention, you do not want to mix grease types. So when you go to install this, you should remove the old grease before applying any new grease. But that should do it for the review on the LubriMatic Marine trailer wheel bearing grease in the 3-ounce cartridges for a quantity of three..

  • New Brake Assemblies, Hub/Drums, Brake Lines, and Bearing Buddy for Trailer with 3,500 lb Axle
For as trashed as those brake assemblies are I am impressed with how spotless that spindle is! Based on the bearing numbers you mentioned you have a #84 spindle and the hub part # AKHD-545-35-G-K is correct. Since this its galvanized it's a really great option as it will fight corrosion. The flexible brake line kits like the part # 18SI-BLKIT is what I would go with. They are just as durable as anything else and a lot easier to install. The brake assemblies # AKFBBRK-35R-D and # AKFBBRK-35L-D...

  • How to Identify Correct Replacement Bearings and Seals for Boat Trailer
Replacing your boat trailer's wheel bearings and seals is easiest if you pull one of the hubs and remove the inner and outer bearings and grease seal. The part numbers for these items usually appear as shown in the linked photo, and knowing the part numbers is the surest way to know you have selected the correct replacement parts. If you cannot get the part numbers please let me know and I will give you help with how to measure the spindles and hubs for the parts' sizes. We offer individual...

  • What Kind of Grease is in the Galvanized CE Smith Trailer Idler Hub Assembly CE13515?
Hey Randy! The CE Smith Trailer Hub Assembly w/ Carrying Case item # CE13515 comes pre greased with a marine formula grease like item # L54FR. It'll fit 3,500 lbs axles with #84 spindles. I can't speak for what's on the shelf in your area but CE Smith is a reputable company that stands by their products. As far as galvanized hubs go, these are at the top of our options quality wise. • Replacement Grease Seals For TRP GS-1719DL
From the numbers you provided it sounds like you need replacement grease seals. In my research, the grease seals I found with the GS-1719DL number have a 1.72 inside diameter and 2.565 outside diameter. The replacement double lip grease seals you need are part # RG06-050. There are 2 seals in the package. When replacing any components for your hub, you will want to make sure you either get the numbers for the parts or take precise measurements with a digital caliper. I have attached...

  • Safe Grease Gun Pressure for Filling Hubs with Grease on EZ Lube Spindles
Care should be taken when loading grease into a hub that is installed on an EZ-Lube spindle. It is very easy to over-fill the hub and apply too much pressure and blow out the grease seals. Even the double-lip seals like # 34823 used with EZ-Lube hubs can be blown out from excess grease pressure. The standard grease guns we offer top out at a maximum pressure of 7000-psi, but many are rated for lower pressure, such as # ALL940798 (4500-psi) and # L30100 (3000-psi) and it's cartridges...

  • Spindle Compatible With Trailer Idler Hub Assembly AKIHUB-440-2-1K
The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - L44643 Bearings - Pre-Greased # AKIHUB-440-2-1K won't fit your trailer spindle as it will be too long. The reason is, this hub is designed to work on BT8 spindles, which are longer than what you have. The only solution we can offer is to replace your short and older spindles with a new one that will work with the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-440-2-1K, which is the BT8 Spindle for 2,000 lb Trailer Axles # TRU59FR. • Grease Used in CE Smith Pre-Greased Hub CE13110
I reached out to CE Smith, who told me the Trailer Hub Assembly with Carrying Case for 2,500-lb Axles - 4 on 4 - Pre-Greased # CE13110 uses a marine grade grease similar to the LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease # L54FR. At one point the grease was in fact red but they changed it to the greener in color grease, with the only difference being the color, as both are marine-grade. I have added a link below to a video review of this grease if you'd like to take a look.

It looks like the National 471750 grease seal has an outer diameter of 1.983 inches and an inner diameter of 1.25 inches. The replacement grease seal that we offer is part # 34823. This is a double lip grease seal that is best suited for marine applications such as a boat trailer and it fits hubs that use the same bearing and race combination and spindle size that you mentioned. • Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000 lb Axle With 13 Inch Wheels
We do have a solution for you, although the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles # 34822545BX does require wheels be only 8" to 12". The reason for that is there is this hub does not have a large enough flange diameter in order to to provide the necessary side-to-side support for a larger 13" wheel, so it can become loose on the hub. Instead, the hub you need for your 13" wheel is the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles # 8-258BTUC1. This uses the same...

  • Are Wet Bolts Recommended for Boat Trailers
Hi Steve; wet bolts are a great idea for all trailers so I would recommend them for your boat trailer. Instead of piecing something together with the # 018-026-05 you were looking at I recommend the MORryde Suspension Upgrade Kit. This comes with wet bolts, bronze bushings, and 1/2" shackle straps. All of these components will hold up better compared to your standard parts in salt water. You will need to measure your current shackles eye to eye to find the right kit. If your measurement...

  • How to Determine Correct Replacement Bearings for Older Calkins Boat Trailer

If you're greasing a trailer that stays on the land then you'll want hi-temp grease like part # L11390. If you are greasing a boat trailer then you'll want to use marine grease like part # L54FR. When replacing/adding in more grease it's important to use the same grease since some are made with different bases and will break down quickly if mixed with one that has a different base. • Recommend Grease That Is Compatible With Boat Trailer Bearings
I recommend using the Calcium Sulfonate grease like the LubriMatic Marine Trailer Wheel Bearing Grease - 3 oz. Cartridge # L54FR. You're able to combine the calcium sulfonate grease and the anhydrous calcium grease together. You need to make sure your quantities and amounts are mixed correctly so it is not too thick. If the grease is too thick it will not operate under the same temperature changes and will not be as fluid to lubricate all the smaller parts of the bearing. If you have any...

If you think the cause for the noise on your 2015 Jayco Whitehawk 24RBS tandem-axle travel trailer is from the normal travel of the suspension components (leaf springs, equalizers and shackle straps), you might switch over to wet bolts. The squeaking noises from trailer suspension can be reduced by replacing standard shackle bolts with wet bolts. Good News! You can in fact rotate the bottom portion of the Square Direct Weld Jack - Drop Leg w/ Spring Return - Sidewind - 28-3/4" Lift - 12K part # TJD-15000SP-F . To do this you will simply remove the upper plate and gear kit located below that. Once removed you can rotate the outer tube the 1/4 turn you want and reassemble the gear kit on top. Based on what you gave me I can narrow it down to one of two bearing kits for your Tracker boat trailer. Since you mentioned L44610 that means one of the bearings is L44649, and when combined with the Dexter 010-019-00 grease seal, that leaves two options.
